The Vine and Branches Food Closet, located at Immaculate Conception Church (11 Lavelle Rd, Amenia, NY), provides free groceries to local residents in need, including undocumented individuals. Food of Life / Comida de Vida Pantry (St. Thomas Episcopal Church, 40 Leedsville Rd, Amenia Union) – A weekly food pantry serving Amenia and nearby communities. Offers 3 days’ worth of groceries for each family member per visit. Hours: Fridays 3:00–5:00pm. Contact: 845-373-9161. (Operated bilingually; no ID or sign-up required.)

Legal

Catholic Charities Community Services – Dutchess – Provides free immigration legal consultations and representation to Hudson Valley immigrants. Contact: 845-452-1400 to inquire about immigration legal services.

Health

Sun River Health – Dover Plains (formerly Hudson River Health Care) – A community health center ~15 minutes from Amenia offering sliding-scale primary care and pediatrics. Address: 3174 Route 22, Dover Plains, NY. Contact: 845-877-4793. They welcome patients regardless of immigration status (no SSN required).

Education & ESL

Webutuck High School (Amenia) has an English Language Learner (ELL) program for high school students. For formal classes, Dutchess BOCES in Poughkeepsie has ESL programs (call 845-483-3640).

Community

Immaculate Conception Church / St. Anthony’s Parish, part of the Archdiocese of New York, serves the Amenia area and is welcoming to Spanish-speaking and undocumented community members. The parish connects individuals with pastoral care, sacraments, and a supportive faith community.
