The Northwestern Connecticut YMCA – Canaan Branch, located at Geer Village, offers fitness classes, a pool, and wellness programs for all ages. Open since 2004, it promotes health and community through values of respect and inclusion. Typically, membership requires a photo ID and basic contact information. Hours are Monday–Friday from 6:00 AM to 8:00 PM and weekends from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Pool hours end earlier at 2:00 PM on weekends. For more information, call 860-499-3195.

Education & ESL
Region 1 Adult Education (Falls Village) – Free ESL (English as a Second Language) and GED classes for adults in the Region 1 school district (which includes Canaan, North Canaan, Salisbury, Sharon, Cornwall, Kent). Classes are held at Housatonic Valley Regional High School (246 Warren Turnpike, Falls Village) on Monday and Wednesday evenings, 6–8pm. All levels welcome and classes are free.
